November 28, 1976 in Los Gatos, California) is a retired Major League Baseball
pitcher. Bernero has pitched in the majors for the Detroit Tigers, Colorado
Rockies, Atlanta Braves, Philadelphia Phillies, Kansas City Royals. He has a
career record of 11-27. Bernero signed with the Detroit Tigers in 1999
immediately after his final collegiate game with Armstrong Atlantic State.
Tigers´ scout Gary York watched Bernero´s final game, which ended up running
long until almost midnight, with the plan to get Bernero to sign as soon as
possible after the game because of the many teams seeking to sign Bernero. York
followed Bernerro and the rest of the team to a Denny´s restaurant where York
realized he had forgotten the contract back at his hotel room.
